ABSTRACT
Sexual assault includes 'forced touching or kissing; It is defined as all of the compulsive sexual acts, including verbal coercion and physically forced vaginal, oral and anal penetration. Another common type of sexual assault on college campuses is date rape, which is defined as 'nonconsensual sex between two people, either on a first date or in an ongoing relationship.' Date rape is a variation of rape, also called a subset of rape by someone you know. The study of date rape is a controversial topic. As a result, it has never been easy for researchers to separate political, ethical, and research agendas. Unfortunately, sexual violence is self-perpetuating and much more research is needed to prevent it. When the studies in the literature are examined, it is seen that perceptions and attitudes towards rape, alcohol use, some demographic variables, previous victimizations, physical violence in dating relationships are risk factors in terms of exposure to date rape. The purpose of this traditional review study is to change our understanding of sexual violence between adolescents and young adults and to identify what can be done to eliminate sexual violence and to suggest solutions. In this direction, it has been understood that it is necessary to draw the boundaries of what constitutes date rape, to provide information about rape by developing appointment rape prevention programs, and to conduct more research to prevent rape.
