ABSTRACT
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine and evaluate healthy lifestyle behaviors and patient activation levels of adult individuals. Material and Methods: The sample of the study consists of 700 patients who receive outpatient clinic services from a university hospital in Konya. Quantitative research design and convenience sampling method were used in the study. Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors II. Scale and Patient Activity Scale were used. Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors II. The Cronbach alpha value of the Scale was 0.898, and the Cronbach alpha value of the Patient Activity Scale was 0.836. Results: As a result of the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that individuals exhibit more healthy lifestyle behaviors as their education and income levels increase. The good general health of the individuals affects their healthy lifestyle behaviors in a direction. The average healthy lifestyle behaviors of people who do not have chronic diseases and who do not use drugs continuously were found to be higher. As age increases, healthy lifestyle behaviors decrease and patient activation level also increases. Patient activation level of married individuals was found to be higher than those who were single. It was determined that physical activity, nutrition, interpersonal relationships and stress management dimensions, which are sub-dimensions of healthy lifestyle behaviors, do not have a significant effect on patient activity. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was determined that as the health responsibility of individuals increases and the level of spiritual development increases, patient activation will also increase.
