ÖZET
 Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı, normal işitmeye sahip erişkin bireylerde maskeleme düzeyi farkı değerlerini karşılaştırmak ve yaş değişkeni ile saf ses ortalaması, konuşma testleri ve maskeleme düzeyi farkı test sonuçları aralarındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya normal işitmeye sahip 18-30 yaş arası 45 birey, 45- 75 yaş arası 42 birey olmak üzere 87 birey dâhil edilmiş olup toplam 174 kulak değerlendirilmiştir. Bireylere sırasıyla otoskopik muayene, akustik immitansmetri, saf ses odyometrisi, konuşma odyometrisi ve binaural etkileşimi değerlendirmek için maskeleme düzeyi farkı testleri yapılmıştır. Maskeleme düzeyi farkı testi 500 Hz saf ton ve dar bant gürültü kullanılarak S0N0 homofazik ve SπN0 antifazik olmak üzere 2 koşulda ayrı ayrı değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: İki grup arasında konuşmayı alma eşiği (sağ kulak ve sol kulak p<0,001), konuşmayı ayırt etme skoru (sağ kulak ve sol kulak p<0,001) ve maskeleme düzeyi farkı (p=0,003) test sonuçları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık vardır. Yaş ile yapılan tüm testler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Yaş ile saf ses ortalaması (r=0,724, p<0,001; r=0,688, p<0,001) ve konuşmayı alma eşiği (r=0,599, p<0,001; r=0,651, p<0,001) arasında istatistiksel açıdan pozitif yönde, konuşmayı ayırt etme skoru (r=-0,567, p<0,001; r=-0,553, p<0,001) ve maskeleme düzeyi farkı (r=-0,260, p=0,015) arasında istatistiksel açıdan negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Sonuç: Normal işitme eşiklerine rağmen yaşın artması ile işitsel ve binaural etkileşim fonksiyonlarında azalma olduğu gözlenmiştir.

ABSTRACT
 Objective: The aim of our study is to compare the masking level difference values in adult individuals with normal hearing and to examine the relationship between age and pure tone average, speech tests, and masking level difference results. Material and Methods: The study included 87 individuals with normal hearing and a total of 174 ears were evaluated. 45 individuals aged between 18-30 and 42 individuals aged between 45-75 were included. The individuals were evaluated by otoscopic examination, acoustic immitancemetry, pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and masking level difference test, respectively. The masking level difference test was evaluated separately under two conditions, S0N0 homophasic and SπN0 antifasic, using 500 Hz pure tone stimulus and narrow-band noise. Results: A statistically significant difference between the speech reception threshold (right and left ear p<0.001), speech discrimination score (right and left ear p<0.001), and masking level difference (p=0.003) test results between the two groups were found. A statistically significant correlations was found between all tests and age. Statistically positive correlation between age and pure tone average (r=0.724, p<0.001; r=0.688, p<0.001) and speech reception threshold (r=0.599, p<0.001; r=0.651, p<0.001); statistically negative correlation between the age and speech discrimination score (r=-0.567, p<0.001; r=-0.553, p<0.001) and masking level difference (r=-0.260, p=0.015) were found. Conclusion: Despite having normal hearing thresholds, a decrease in auditory and binaural interaction functions were observed along with an increase in age.

1. TERMS OF USE

"Force majeure" term will be regarded as outside of the concerned party's reasonable control and any situation that "Turkiye Klinikleri" cannot prevent even though it shows due diligence. Also, force majeure situations include but not limited to natural disasters, rebellion, war, strike, communication problems, infrastructure and internet failure, power cut and bad weather conditions.

8. LAW AND AUTHORISATION TO FOLLOW

Turkish Law will be applied in practicing, interpreting the hereby "Terms of Use" and managing the emerging legal relationships within this "Terms of Use" in case of finding element of foreignness, except for the rules of Turkish conflict of laws. Ankara Courts and Enforcement Offices are entitled in any controversy happened or may happen due to hereby contract.

9. CLOSING AND AGREEMENT

Hereby "Terms of Use" come into force when announced in the "SITE" by "Turkiye Klinikleri". The users are regarded to agree to hereby contract terms by using the "SITE". "Turkiye Klinikleri" may change the contract terms and the changes will be come into force by specifying the version number and the date of change on time it is published in the "SITE".
