Çocukların %73,5'i katı gıda ile beslenirken problem yaşamıştır. Çalışmaya katılan 34 çocuğun 14'ünün (%41,2) hâlâ beslenme problemi yaşadığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Uygulanan ankete verilen cevaplar incelendiğinde, damak+/-dudak yarığı olan çocukların büyük kısmında sıvı ve katı gıdalarla beslenme sırasında problem yaşandığı görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, sıvı gıdalarla beslenme sırasında daha çok katılımcının beslenme problemi yaşadığı tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada uygulanan anketin, damak+/-dudak yarığı olan çocukların beslenme sırasında karşılaştığı problemlerin belirlenmesine yardımcı olabileceği sonuca varılmıştır.

ABSTRACT
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine preoperative feeding/swallowing problems of children with cleft lip and palate who were refered to the Hacettepe University Hospital, Speech and Language Therapy Department and were between 0-10 years old. Material and Methods: The parents of 34 children who were refered to the Hacettepe University Hospital, Speech and Language Therapy Department and who met the study criteria participated in our study. A questionnaire consisting of 31 questions about nutritional problems that may be seen in children with cleft lip and palate was created after literature review. While the questionnaires were filled in, the questions were asked to the parents face to face by the researchers. Results: The median age of the children in the study is 40.8 months (minimum-maximum 1.2- 116.4 months). Among 34 children, 15 of them are female (44.1%) and 19 of them are male (55.9%). It has found that 88.2% of the children were not able to breastfeed. Breast milk intake problems were reported in 91.2% of the cases. Problems during feeding on solid food occurred in the 73.5% of the children. It was determined that 14 (41.2%) children still had feeding problems. Conclusion: When the answers given to the questionnaire were examined, it was observed that the majority of the children with cleft lip and palate had problems during feeding liquids and feeding on solid food. However, it was observed that more participants experienced nutritional problems during feeding liquids. It was concluded that the questionnaire applied in the current study can help determining the feeding problems encountered by children with cleft lip and palate
