ABSTRACT
Logistics activities, which cover the events of delivering the right product to the right customer at the right time and place, at the right quantity and conditions, with the correct costs, have a remarkable position in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in many branches of the industry. Especially with the increasing importance given to environmental concerns, systems that prevent further damage to the environment have also started to be preferred in the logistics sector as in every sector. In this context, green logistics, which aims to develop a continuous balance between economic, environmental, and social purposes and is one of the modern logistics approaches, has emerged as a logistics system that gives businesses a competitive advantage and prioritizes ecological issues.Today, giving importance to environmental issues is not only an ethical responsibility but also a factor that adds value to businesses. In the twenty-first century, as in all branches of industry, environmental or green practices have been frequently started to come up due to reasons such as reducing costs and strengthening the company image in the pharmaceutical industry. In this regard, green logistics applications, which take into consideration environmental sensitivity in all processes, from designing to manufacturing, packaging, delivery to the consumer to disposal or recycling, are of great importance for the pharmaceutical industry. In this study, the concept of green logistics was discussed in general terms and the place and importance of green logistics in the pharmaceutical industry were evaluated from various perspectives.
