ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between balance, vertical jump performance and physical activity level in amateur athletes who are studying undergraduate education in sports sciences faculty. The secondary aim of the study is to compare the vertical jump height with the velocity, force and power values and other evaluation scores by a mobile application developed for objective measurement of the jump test. Material and Methods: Fifty-one students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University were included in the study. The individual characteristics of the students (age, height, weight, body mass index, limb length) were collected. Physical activity level was evaluated with UFAA-Short Form. The Flamingo Balance Test was used to evaluate the static balance. In the evaluation of vertical jump, the parameters of 'Countermovement Jump' performance were recorded. The relationship between the results of the evaluations was examined. Results: The mean age of the participants was 22.8±3.7 years. There was no relationship between IPAQ-Short Form and Flamingo Balance Test (p>0.05). There was a positive correlation between all parameters of vertical jump test and IPAQ-Short Form (p0.05). Vertical jump height value was found to be correlated with velocity, force and power values (p> 0.05). Conclusion: Vertical jump performance improved with increasing physical activity. The level of physical activity was not associated with static balance ability. In addition, with the increase of vertical jump height, jump speed, strength and strength were increased.

Keywords: Vertical jump; static balance; physical activity; amateur athletes
