ABSTRACT
Objective: This research was carried out to examine the relationship between 24-36 month-old child temperament and mothers' self-efficacy and to determine the predictive level of maternal selfefficacy of child temperament. Material and Methods: The study was designed in the relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The study group of the research consisted of 408 mothers with 24-36 months old children. As a data collection tool in the research; Temperament Assessment Battery for Children Revised Parent Form, Parenting Skills Self-Efficacy Scale (1-3 years) and a Personal Information Form were used that developed by the researchers. Results: The collected datas in the research were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 package program. In the study, Pearson correlation was used to examine the relationship between child temperament characteristics and mothers' self-efficacy sub-dimensions, and simple linear multiple regression analysis was used to determine the predictive level of maternal self-efficacy by child temperament. Conclusion: According to the findings, it was revealed that the child's perseverance temperament trait statistically significantly and positively predicted the mother's selfefficacy score, while the child's negative affect temperament trait predicted the mother's self-efficacy score statistically significantly and negatively. The effect of the child's temperament on maternal self-efficacy is an important outcome for intervention studies to be planned. Strengthening the perception of mother's self-efficacy by improving the risky environmental conditions will be an effective way for healthy mother-child interaction.
