Partner/Dating Violence Among Youths in Muğla

ÖZET
 Amaç: Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Eğitim-Araştırma Hastanesi Adli Tıp Polikliniğine yansıyan gençlik yaş grubundaki adli vakalar arasında flört/partner şiddetine maruz kalanların değerlendirilmesiyle sıklığını, bölgesel özelliklerin ortaya koymak, önleyici çalışmalar açısından öneriler geliştirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: 01.Haziran.2014-31.Mayıs.2017 tarihleri arasında, 15-24 yaş grubunda olan 1.170 (%29,9) bireyin raporları geriye dönük değerlendirildi. Eşinden (partnerinden) ve flört/sevgiliden şiddete maruz kalan 60 birey çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Veriler yaş, cinsiyet, şiddet türü, kimden şiddet gördüğü, geldikleri yerlere göre değerlendirildi. Tanımlayıcı ve frekans analizleri yapıldı. Bulgular: Toplam 60 (genç bireylerin %5,1'i) birey eş/flört şiddetine maruz kalmıştı. Olguların %80'i kadın, %20'si erkek idi. Mağdurların %23,3'ü 15-19 yaş aralığında, %76,7'si 20-24 yaş aralığındadır. %73,3'ü Muğla merkezden, geri kalanı diğer ilçelerden gelmiştir. Kadın mağdurlarda şiddet uygulayan en fazla %41,6 (n=25) oranıyla eş, %18,3 (n=11) erkek arkadaş, %16,6 (n:10) eski erkek arkadaştır. Erkek mağdurlarda belli bir sıklık bulunmamaktadır. Yaş gruplarına göre şiddet uygulayanlarda; 15-19 yaş aralığındaki mağdurlarda en fazla eski/yeni flört/sevgili şiddeti daha fazla iken (%18,3-n=11), 20-24 yaş aralığında eş şiddeti (%38,3-n=23) diğer gruba göre daha fazla bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Yaş aralığı 15-24 yıl olan kadınlarda eş/flört şiddeti uygulayanlar en fazla erkeklerdir. Kadınların yaşadıkları şiddete mazeret bularak şiddeti normalize etmeye çabaladıkları, erkeklerin ise ayrılığa tahammül edemediği, ayrılık sonrası partnerinin başkasıyla görüşmesine katlanamadıkları gözlenmiştir. Partner/flört şiddetiyle başvuranların fiziksel ve ruhsal muayenesi yapılmalıdır. Kişiler psikiyatri ve sosyal hizmet uzmanı gibi ilgili yerlere yönlendirilip, sahip olduğu haklar konusunda bilgilendirilmeli, sosyal destekleri sağlanmalı ve ruhsal muayeneleri ve takipleri yapılmalıdır. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin ilk eğitimden (Montessori education) bu yana gençlerin algısına yerleştirilmesi, genç erkeklerin ayrılıkla baş etmesine de yardımcı olacaktır.

ABSTRACT
 Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the cases exposed to partner/flirt violence among youths appealed to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Training and Research Hospital Outpatient Clinic of Forensic Medicine and by evaluating to reveal frequency, regional features and to make suggestions. Material and Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the medico-legal reports of 1170 (29.9%) cases; belonging to the age group of 15-24 years appealed between the dates of June/01/2014 and May/31/2017. The 60 cases exposed to spouse/partner/ flirt violence were included. The findings were assessed according to age, gender, type of violence, place and parpetrators. Descriptive and frequency analyzes were performed. Results: There were totally 60 cases (5.1% of youths) exposed to spouse/flirt violence. The 80% of cases was woman and 20% was man. The 23,3% of victims belongs to the age group of 15-19 years, 76,7% of victims belongs to the age group of 20-24 years. The 73.3% of the cases was coming from the central district of Muğla and the rest were coming from other districts. Women were exposed in the majority to the violence of spouse (n=25-41.6%), of boyfriend (n=11-18.3%) and of ex-boyfriend (n=10-16.6%). There was not a certain frequency among men. According to the age groups among the victims belonging to the age group of 15-19 the frequency of ex/new flirt/lover violence was higher (n=11-18.3%) and among the victims belonging to the age group of 20-24 years' spouse violence was higher from the other group (n=23-38.3%). Conclusion: The perpetrators were usually men who were attacking the women belonging to the age group of 15-24 years. It was observed that women were trying to normalize the violence they were exposed by pretext and men were not able to tolerate separation and were not able to accept their partners to date with someone after separation. Physical and mental examination of the patients who apply with the partner/flirting violence should be done. Persons should be referred to relevant places such as psychiatrists and social workers, informed about their rights, social support and mental examinations and follow-up. It would be useful to infuse the gender mainstreaming to the conscious of youth from the beginning of Montessori education for the men during youth to cope with separation.

Turkish Law will be applied in practicing, interpreting the hereby "Terms of Use" and managing the emerging legal relationships within this "Terms of Use" in case of finding element of foreignness, except for the rules of Turkish conflict of laws. Ankara Courts and Enforcement Offices are entitled in any controversy happened or may happen due to hereby contract.

9. CLOSING AND AGREEMENT

Hereby "Terms of Use" come into force when announced in the "SITE" by "Turkiye Klinikleri". The users are regarded to agree to hereby contract terms by using the "SITE".
