ÖZET
 Amaç: Bu çalışmada, ülkemizde uygulanması giderek artan dental implantlar hakkında Batı Karadeniz Bölgesi'nde dental implant yaptırmayı düşünen hastalar ile genel popülasyonun bilgi ve farkındalıklarının tespit edilmesi ile karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu 'cross-sectional' çalışmada, dental implant tedavisi görmek amacıyla kliniğe başvuran hastalar (Grup 1, implant grubu) ile diğer oral cerrahi işlemleri yaptırmak için başvuran hastalara (Grup 2, genel popülasyon grubu) dental implantlar hakkındaki bilgilerini tespit etmek ve bu bilgileri nereden edindiklerini saptamak amacıyla bir anket uygulandı. Hastaların, dental implantlar hakkındaki bilgileri ve bu bilgileri elde ettikleri kaynaklar arasında fark olup olmadığını karşılaştırmak amacıyla χ² testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Toplam 256 erişkin hasta (Grup 1, n=113; Grup 2, n=143) çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Grup 2'de dental implantları daha önce hiç duymayanların sayısı, Grup 1'e göre anlamlı olarak fazla bulundu (p<0,0001). Ayrıca dental implantların hangi materyalden yapıldığı sorusunda, Grup 1'in doğru yanıtları Grup 2'ye göre yüksek bulundu (p=0,049). İki grupta da implantların hangi materyalden yapıldığını bilmeyenlerin yüzdeleri (Grup 1'de %49,5; Grup 2'de %57,8) yüksekti. İki grupta da katılımcıların dental implantlar hakkında bilgilerini en fazla arkadaşlarından ve yakınlarından edindikleri tespit edildi (Grup 1'de %52,8; Grup 2'de %39,2). Her 2 grupta da dental implant uygulayıcılarından çene cerrahları en nitelikli uygulayıcılar olarak seçildi (Grup 1'de %76,7; Grup 2'de %68,9). Sonuç: Toplumumuzda hem dental implant yaptırmak isteyen hastalarda hem de genel popülasyonda dental implantlarla ilgili bilgi eksikliklerinin olduğu ve farkındalığın yüksek olmadığı sonucuna varıldı.

ABSTRACT
 Objective: The aim of this study was to determine and compare the knowledge and awareness of patients who are considering to have dental implants and general population in Western Black Sea Region about the increasing number of dental implants in our country. Material and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the patients who applied to the clinic for dental implant treatment (Group 1, implant group) and the patients who applied for other oral surgery procedures (Group 2, general population group) to determine their knowledge about dental implants and determine where they obtained this information. A questionnaire was applied for the purpose χ² test was used to compare patients' knowledge about dental implants and whether there was a difference between the sources they obtained this information. Results: A total of 256 adult patients (Group 1, n=113; Group 2, n=143) were included in the study. In Group 2, the number of patients who had never heard of dental implants before was significantly higher than in Group 1 (p<0.0001). In addition, the correct answers of Group 1 were found to be higher than Group 2 in terms of the material from which dental implants were made (p=0.049). In both groups, the percentage of those who did not know which material the implants were made of (Group 1, 49.5%; Group 2, 57.8%) was high. In both groups, it was determined that the participants had the most information about dental implants from their friends and relatives (Group 1, 52.8%; Group 2, 39.2%). In both groups, oral surgeons were selected as the most qualified applicators (Group 1, 76.7%; Group 2, 68.9%). Conclusion: It was concluded that there is a lack of knowledge about dental implants in the general population and the awareness is not high in patients who want to have dental implants in our society.

- Providing structural, statistical and editorial support to article preparation stage for scientific journals.

4. GENERAL PROVISIONS

4.1. "Turkiye Klinikleri" is completely free to determine which of the services and contents provided in the "SITE" will be charged.

4.2. People benefiting from the services provided by "Turkiye Klinikleri" and using the website can use the "SITE" only according to the law and only for personal reasons. Users have the criminal and civil liability for every process and action they take in the "SITE". Every USER agrees, declares and undertakes that they will not proceed by any function or action infringement of rights of "Turkiye Klinikleri"s and/or other third parties', they are the exclusive right holder on usage, processing, storage, made public and revealing any written, visual or auditory information reported to Turkiye Klinikleri" and/or "SITE" to the third parties. "Force majeure" term will be regarded as outside of the concerned party's reasonable control and any situation that "Turkiye Klinikleri" cannot prevent even though it shows due diligence. Also, force majeure situations include but not limited to natural disasters, rebellion, war, strike, communication problems, infrastructure and internet failure, power cut and bad weather conditions.

8. LAW AND AUTHORISATION TO FOLLOW

Turkish Law will be applied in practicing, interpreting the hereby "Terms of Use" and managing the emerging legal relationships within this "Terms of Use" in case of finding element of foreignness, except for the rules of Turkish conflict of laws. Ankara Courts and Enforcement Offices are entitled in any controversy happened or may happen due to hereby contract.

9. CLOSING AND AGREEMENT

Hereby "Terms of Use" come into force when announced in the "SITE" by "Turkiye Klinikleri". The users are regarded to agree to hereby contract terms by using the "SITE". "Turkiye Klinikleri" may change the contract terms and the changes will be come into force by specifying the version number and the date of change on time it is published in the "SITE".
